Metro Jaya Police Holds Night Patrol To Secure Jakarta
JAKARTA - The Directorate of Traffic of the Metro Jaya Police is conducting patrols to secure Jakarta from various disturbances in the Kamtibmas that often appear at night.
"The line of Sat PJR (Highway Patrol) Ditlantas Metro Jaya Police together with colleagues from Patwal for tonight carried out creating conditions with the aim of providing security to people who are still in public places," said Kanit 3 Sat PJR Ditlantas Metro Jaya Police Iptu Sentot Santoso was reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 26 evening.
Iptu Sentot said the patrols tonight were focused on Central Jakarta and its surroundings, particularly Monas, the HI Roundabout, and Kota Tua.
The targets of the operation include crowds of people, illegal racing, motorcycle riders with noisy exhausts, and other kamtibmas disturbances.
He explained that officers would prioritize persuasive steps and give advice on health protocols and remind that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over.
"For our efforts to give an appeal to the community, we give maximum advice for action," he said.

However, Sentot said that enforcement is the last resort that the officers will take if the public does not heed the officers' advice.
"If the public still insists, we will take action. We are persuasive, we give an appeal first, that is the main thing. The attention of the Traffic Director of the Metro Jaya Police is like that. For the last action, we are humane to the community," he said.
