Factory Security Robs Cellphone Shop: IDR 100 Million Proceeds From Crime Are Used To Pay IDR 50 Million Wedding Debt
SERANG - IS (29), a security guard at a factory in the Bekasi area, West Java, has become a suspect in a case of violent robbery. IS robbed a mobile phone shop using a machete and toy gun to frighten its victims in Tambak Village, Kibin District, Serang Regency, Banten on Saturday, August 6.
Based on information from the Serang Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant of Police (AKBP) Yudha Satria, the perpetrators were desperate to take the action because they were in debt. So, said the Chief of Police, he dared to carry out the robbery.
"So the perpetrator entered the cellphone shop at around 22.30, when the cellphone shop was about to close," explained Yudha Satria accompanied by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Commissioner Adjutant of Police (AKP) Dedi Mirza in a written statement, Monday night, August 15.
Yudha said that during the action, the perpetrator pointed a toy gun and a machete at the victim. Because the victim was afraid, the victim gave what the perpetrator asked for.
"From the CCTV footage, the perpetrator immediately entered by threatening the victim by pointing a toy gun and a machete at the victim. After what he asked for, the perpetrator immediately fled," he explained.

Yudha revealed that the perpetrators could be identified by the Serang Crime Investigation Unit armed with CCTV footage at the crime scene (TKP). Then, he continued, the team chased the perpetrator and was successfully arrested at his rented house in the Bekasi area, West Java.
"With the evidence that we managed to secure, such as 2 mobile phones, 2 motorbikes, 6 gold furs, helmets, raincoats, a machete, and the remaining money from the crime of around 14 million rupiah," he said.
Yudha said, the perpetrator did the action alone and this was the first time he had done it. And it was revealed that the perpetrator had worked at the victim's cellphone shop. No wonder the perpetrators in action know where the money is stored.
The perpetrators finally took away the victim's money amounting to IDR 100 million, the proceeds from the sale of cellphones. And Yudha explained that the perpetrator used the money to pay a debt of IDR 50 million which was used for marriage expenses. The rest of the loot is used to buy things, such as motorbikes and others.
“Given that this suspect has worked at the shop, he knows that the shop owner's habit is to save money. Meanwhile, the perpetrator IS admitted that his actions were due to economic factors and the result of being in debt after his marriage," said Judah.
For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with violence, with a threat of 12 years in prison.
