North Gorontalo DPRD Encourages Local Government To Be More Serious In Building Infrastructure And Opening An Investment Climate To Support Maritime Tourism
GORONTALO - The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of North Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province hopes that the potential for marine tourism can be managed more seriously by the local government.
This was stated by the Chair of the North Gorontalo DPRD, Deisy Sandra Maryana Datau in Gorontalo, Sunday, August 14.
According to her, the development of marine tourism in the area is very important considering it is one of the very large revenue potentials. Local governments need to be more serious in managing both building adequate infrastructure and opening up better investment opportunities.
Moreover, the management of the tourism sector, she said, also had an impact on several sectors. In particular, it creates new job opportunities.
With a coastline of 317 kilometers, as well as beautiful islands, supported by the existence of 78 villages in coastal areas spread over 11 sub-districts, it is highly believed that this potential is able to become the largest source of regional revenue.
The DPRD hopes that the regional government will begin to regulate the potential sources of regional revenue so that they can manage them properly according to the plan.
"Because it must be more optimal to touch the tourism sector so that the source of revenue can be explored maximally. Of course by preparing regulations that can support management," she said quoted from Antara.
She hopes that local revenue, which is still hovering at IDR 30 billion per year, can increase significantly soon. Moreover, this area has the potential for natural resources and the availability of human resources.
