Ready To Compete With Netflix, Disney+ Will Launch Subscription Plans With Ad Support
JAKARTA - Wanting to compete with the streaming platform Netflix, Disney+ is rumored to be starting to introduce a cheaper subscription offer with advertising support on December 8.
According to a statement provided by Disney in Business Wire, the subscription package with advertising support is one of the most awaited by the US public. Because, it will give viewers more package options than ever before.
With the launch, a new and comprehensive set of subscription plans will be available across Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney Bundles.
The plan will certainly give viewers the highest flexibility in choosing the option that suits their individual needs.
“With our new, ad-supported Disney+ offering and an expanded suite of plans across our streaming portfolio,” said Kareem Daniel, Chairman, Disney Entertainment & Media Distribution.
Daniel added, that way the company will provide consumers with a wider choice of prices to meet their various needs.

The new prices for Disney's direct-to-consumer monthly subscription plans as of December 8 in the US are as follows:
Disney+
- Basic (with ads): US$7.99 (Rp118k)
- Premium (without ads): US$10.99 (Rp162k)
Hulu
- Basic (with ads): US$7.99 (Rp118k)
- Premium (without ads): US$14.99 (Rp221k)
ESPN+
- With ads: $9.99 (Rp. 147 thousand)
- UFC PPV: $74.99 (Rp. 1.1 million) per event
The Disney+ subscription package will be effective from December 8, while for Hulu it will be effective from October 10. Then ESPN+ will be effective starting August 23.
