JAKARTA - It became clearer after the determination of the suspect Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu or Bharada E and Brigadier RR to Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, the former Head of the Profession and Security Division, who were put in a special isolation room at the Mobile Brigade Headquarters Depok.
Singing, the term of the new statement submitted by Bharada E—after changing lawyers last weekend—clarifies the issue. Shooting on orders from superiors. The motive is still unclear. But at least, the handling of the case of the death of Brigadier Joshua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J is progressing.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD said that three suspects had been named in the case of the death of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yoshua Hutabarat or Brigadier J.
"There are already three suspects, it can develop and the articles are 338, 340, premeditated murder," Mahfud said when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday, August 8.
Investigators have released the determination of two suspects, namely Bharada Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu or Bharada E under the suspicion of Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
Then the second suspect, Brigadier Ricky Rizal or Brigadier RR, was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code (premeditated murder) in conjunction with Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
Bharada E and Brigadier RR were the driver and aide to Ferdy Sambo's wife, Putri Chandrawathi. Regarding the three suspects, called Mahfud MD, today, the Criminal Investigation Department held a case exposure.
Mahfud believes that the determination of the suspect will lead to the role of Bharada E and Brigadier RR, as well as other suspects as suspected executioners or intellectuals.
According to him, the investigation into the alleged premeditated murder case against Brigadier J is considered fast, considering that the case has a code of silence.
"The development is actually fast, cases like that which have a 'code of silence' are now having suspects, then high-ranking officials have gone 'migrated'. I think the step and method carried out by Police is good enough and not bad," said Mahfud.
The President of the People's Information Center (LIRA) Andi Syafrani spoke about the public's hope that the Police would work quickly in uncovering the case of the death of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J. Apart from clarifying who the mastermind or intellectual actor for the murder of Brigadier J was, he explained how the case was handled so that speculation would develop regarding this case not getting wild.
"Kabareskrim is the key in this case. Kabareskrim needs to work more quickly and transparently to ensure this legal process is enforced indiscriminately," Andi said in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 8.
Andi assessed that, despite the impression that there was a rather long process and stages, with the effort to transfer several officers suspected of being involved in this case, the efforts and firm stance of the National Police Chief, General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, was very clear.
However, he continued, the speed of the officers under the National Police must be increased because in general, those suspected of being involved are internal elements of the police so that the summons and investigation can be faster than outside parties.
In addition, Andi also highlighted that the detention of the former Head of the Profession and Security Police, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo at the Mobile Brigade Headquarters, Depok, West Java, for allegedly committing ethical violations, could bring this case in a lighter direction.
"From the start, we suspected that there was something odd about Brigadier J's case. There was a lot of speculation going on, starting from the missing CCTV at the crime scene, different police statements, many asking what the main motive was, and who was the mastermind. The placement of Inspector General FS will open Pandora's box and we hope to end this long drama," said Andi optimistically.
