MU Faces Brighton In The British Premier League 2022/2023, Supporters Threaten To Boycott Old Trafford
JAKARTA - Manchester United will start the 2022/2023 Premier League by facing Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday 7 August. Ahead of the inaugural match, supporters of the Red Devils were rumored to be holding a boycott.
The '1958' supporter group will hold a demonstration in front of the Old Trafford Stadium because of the ownership issue of the club. This was done by supporters because they were not satisfied with the performance of the Glazer family.
“The Glazers are unworthy owners. We will always support the club. We always support the manager," wrote the '1958' group on Twitter.
“We will always rise up against the current owners and whatever puppet hierarchy they designate. The future of our club is our only motivation. Some things are worth fighting for."
This is not the first time the Glazer family has been beaten by United supporters '1958'. In April 2022, when Manchester United played Norwich City, a number of people from the fan group also protested.
Even the demonstration that most harmed the club occurred on May 2, 2021, when Manchester United faced Liverpool at the Theater of Dream. The group closed the entrance to the stadium.
In this action, the supporters of '1958' claimed to be closing the entrance to the East Stand Megastore, as well as the entrance of the Manchester United directors.
On the other hand, the Glazer family is actually trying to build a team to compete again at the top of the Premier League standings. They appointed a manager of Erik ten Hag's caliber to help calm the fans' nerves.
