Neymar Is Reported Moving To Manchester City, Guardiola Denies: It's Not True

JAKARTA - Manchester City coach, Josep Guardiola, has denied reports that Neymar is joining his club. Moreover, it was proposed by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as Neymar's club to exchange him for Bernardo Silva.

Quoted from Livescore.com, Wednesday, PSG are said to be intending to release Neymar this summer because the Brazilian striker's performance did not live up to expectations. In fact, the price and salary is quite high.

The situation also tensed because last season Neymar was often absent for various reasons. He only appeared in 22 Ligue 1 matches with a contribution of 13 goals.

French media, Le Parisien, said PSG would offer Neymar to Man City in exchange for Bernardo Silva. Neymar can be an additional strength for The Citizens in the wing sector, especially since Man City has just lost Raheem Sterling who moved to Chelsea.

However, the statement was immediately denied by The Citizens. Guardiola denied the news revealed by Le Parisien even though apart from that the coach also admired Neymar as an extraordinary player.

"I'm sorry for Le Parisien, but it's not true," he said, quoted from Livescore.com.

"Their information is not true, Neymar is an extraordinary player and the information I have is he is a very good man.

"But that (his move to City) is not true. Every summer Manchester City looks like they are going to buy 150 players."

Meanwhile, Guardiola reiterated that Bernardo Silva will remain at City despite being linked with Barcelona last month. City itself has secured several key new players for this season such as Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips, Julian Alvarez, and Stefan Ortega Moreno.
