Gibran Asks Mosque Committee In Surakarta To Deliver Sacrificial Meat Directly To Residents' Houses
SURAKARTA - Mayor of Surakarta Gibran Rakabuming Raka asked the committee to pay attention to crowd prevention measures when distributing Qurbani on Eid al-Adha 2022.
For this reason, Gibran asked the sacrificial committee at various mosques in Surakarta to deliver the sacrificial meat directly to the beneficiaries.
"I suggest that the meat be sent to the house, do not gather in the mosque so that there are no crowds", said Gibran in Surakarta, Central Java, Monday, July 4.
Regarding the procedure he proposed, Gibran admitted that it was only an appeal. However, he said, the committee for slaughtering sacrificial animals in Surakarta is currently being prepared by the local Religious Affairs Ministry.
"The Ministry of Religion has arranged it", he added.
In addition, at the celebration of Eid al-Adha 2022, his party provides easing as was the case during Eid al-Fitr last year.
"Please, please, stay normal. You can pray in the field, on the street, and some roads are closed. Mosques are also allowed", he said.
He said, so far there have been no restrictions on community activities during the Eid al-Adha celebration. Gibran said that related to Eid al-Adha regulations, his party was still waiting for instructions from the Minister of Home Affairs.
"(Compared to Eid al-Fitr, ed.) this is not looser, it's the same. Anyway, there are no restrictions. What is certain is that if the meat is delivered to their respective homes, it is safer", he said.

Next Sunday, his party will also cancel the car-free day (CFD) or motorized vehicle-free day considering that the slaughter of sacrificial animals will be carried out on Sunday, June 10.
"CFD is closed first, later access will be disrupted if there is CFD. Moreover, later it seems that the Sriwedari parking lot will also be used for prayers", he said.
