Twitch Tests Channel Switcher Feature, Lets You Preview Streamers Without Ads
JAKARTA - A few days ago, Twitch announced that they were testing a new feature called Channel Switcher.
This Channel Switcher will show you a random channel (channels) at the bottom of the screen, where if you are one of those channels, you will be given a one minute preview of the streamer.
While watching the preview you won't find any ads, so you can watch it seamlessly. Twitch says that this feature will make it easier for you to know if you like a particular channel before committing.
Twitch spokesman Ashton Williams told The Verge that this feature says that currently, only a small percentage of Twitch users have access to it.
This experiment will be shut down in mid-July, then the company will analyze the test results. But Williams notes that Twitch plans to work on future iterations and may offer an included version of the feature.

In addition to testing the Channel Switcher, Twitch recently announced that it is testing a new feature for content creators collaborating with other streamers and with their live broadcast viewers, called "Guest Star" which can feature up to six people, consisting of one hosts, and five guests.
It works in a similar way to Twitter Spaces and Clubhouse, but on Twitch it supports live video and audio just like any other Twitch streaming service.
