Preventing Acute Hepatitis Among Students, Health Posts Will Be Opened In All Schools

JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Region II Education Sub-Department will open a number of health posts together with the Health Service Sub-dept. in a number of schools to prevent Acute Hepatitis.

"I am coordinating with the Central Jakarta Health Sub-dept. to set up a command post to prevent acute hepatitis outbreaks in the Central Jakarta area," said Head of Region II Education Sub-department, Uripasih to reporters at SDN 01 Johar Baru (Elementary School), Central Jakarta, Thursday, May 12.

Uripasih said that later the post would involve health workers, starting from the village health center to the sub-district level. The function of the post can be as prevention of acute hepatitis virus and education in prevention.

"Posko will likely be placed in a number of schools or in health centers adjacent to the school. But this is all still being discussed," he said.

Previously, it was reported that three residents from two sub-districts, Sawah Besar and Kemayoran sub-districts, Central Jakarta, were suspected of having mysterious acute hepatitis. However, there has been no final examination report regarding this case.

"The results of the final diagnosis are not yet known, there are no reports indicating that it is acute hepatitis," said Head of the Central Jakarta Health Sub-dept., Erizon Safari.
