Defeating Fajar/Rian, Pramudya/Yeremia Challenge Malaysia's Representative In The 2022 Asian Badminton Championships Final
JAKARTA - The men's doubles duel for the representatives of Indonesia in the semifinals of the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships was hot. Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan managed to beat their seniors, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto.
In the match that took place at Muntinlupa Sports Complex, Manila on Saturday, April 30 afternoon WIB, Pramudya/Yeremia won with a score of 22-20, 13-21, 21-18.
At the beginning of the first game, Fajar/Rian first led the points with a score of 11-7 in the initial interval. With a distance that is not too far away, Pramudya/Yeremia tried to catch up with the points after the break.
The spirit of not wanting to lose brought them to reduce the gap to 18-19. Fajar/Rian failed to take advantage of that crucial moment and instead made Pramudya/Yeremia able to make a comeback with 22-20 points.
In the second game, Pramudya/Yeremia had the lead in the early game. But then Fajar/Rian could take the lead and sprint by creating a seven-point gap at 16-9.
Fajar/Rian then won game points at 20-11. Having failed on the first two occasions, Fajar/Rian forced a rubber game by winning 21-13 in the second game.

Entering the decisive game, the duel was more intense from the start. Fajar/Rian had a 4-1 lead but Pramudya/Yeremia could turn around to lead 9-7.
Pramudya/Jeremiah did not loosen their pressure and finally closed the interval with a score of 11-8. After the break, Fajar/Rian immediately kicked with a score of three consecutive points which made the score 11-11.
After that, it was Pramudya/Jeremiah's turn to continue to widen the points gap. Pramudya/Yeremia then led 19-15 after they won the rally against Fajar/Rian.
In that situation, Fajar/Rian can win two consecutive points. But then Pramudya/Yeremia succeeded in securing the final ticket after winning 21-18.
In the final round, Pramudya/Jeremiah will face tough rivals, Aaron Chia/Soh Woi Yik. This Malaysian pair qualified for the final of the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships after their compatriots, Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzudin.
