President Jokowi Immediately Issues Presidential Regulation On Logistics For The 2024 Election
JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, has ensured that President Joko Widodo is ready to make a Presidential Regulation regarding the logistics of the 2024 election.
"Mr. President is ready for a specific Presidential Regulation regarding the procurement of election logistics", said the Minister of Home Affairs at a working meeting at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 13, as reported by Antara.
In the implementation of the General Election, one of the fundamental problems is the problem of logistics procurement. "Sometimes it takes time, especially when it comes to auctions", he said.
The Minister of Home Affairs emphasized that the president has ordered the Coordinating Minister for Polhukan and the Ministry of Home Affairs to prepare the necessary regulations, as long as they do not conflict with the law.
"Regulation is prepared from the government, one of which is the procurement of goods and logistics services for the election", he said.
Commission II held a working meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the General Elections Commission (KPU), the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), and the Election Organizing Honorary Council (DKPP).
The Minister of Home Affairs also asked the election organizers to calculate the election budget as effectively and efficiently as possible.

"Please, with all due respect, the budget is properly calculated so that it can be as minimal as possible, but still achieve the election target", said the Minister of Home Affairs hoping.
He explained that in the midst of the current situation, the government, the state, and people still need money. There is no certainty whether the pandemic will be over by 2024.
"We are still in the stage of economic recovery, many are still affected, many national strategic programs (PSN) in the regions have not been completed. This also requires money", said Minister Tito.
