YOGYAKARTA - The Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Regional (DIY) Police, Commissioner Yuliyanto, ensured that the police would prioritize a humane attitude in securing demonstrations at several points in Yogyakarta on Monday, April 11.
"Our name is serving the community, of course, we must be humane. One of them is that the security of the demonstration cannot use firearms", said Yulianto in Yogyakarta, Monday, April 11, as reported by Antara.
Based on the notification received by the Yogyakarta Regional Police, the demonstrations were centered at two points in Yogyakarta, namely at the UGM roundabout and the zero-kilometer point in Yogyakarta.
"Students or the public who are demonstrating do not need to worry that the police carry firearms to protect the demonstration, there is none", he added.
He said the Yogyakarta Regional Police together with the ranks of the police and the police had prepared personnel, including policewomen in sufficient numbers to guard the demonstration.
Yuliyanto hopes that the demonstration will run smoothly and will not interfere with the activities of other people around the location.
"The number of personnel deployed is sufficient to secure the demonstration so that they can be served properly, aspirations run well, and do not disturb other people who will use the environment around the demonstration location", he said.

Observations at the location, several people from various elements who are members of the People's Alliance for Indonesian Care held a demonstration at the UGM roundabout, Sleman Regency, Monday afternoon, April 11.
Some of the demands that were voiced were rejecting the postponement of the election, refusing to serve a three-term presidential term, lowering the price of cooking oil and necessities, thoroughly investigating the oil mafia, destroying the oligarchy, as well as opposing the new style of communism.
"We do not bring any political interests and bring any mass organizations. What is certain here is that the Indonesian people are united here", said Field Coordinator of the Indonesian People's Care Alliance, Dhani.
As of 12.30 WIB, the demonstration was peaceful and the flow of vehicle traffic around the UGM roundabout was monitored smoothly.
