Billie Eilish Pays Tribute To Taylor Hawkins At The 2022 Grammys
JAKARTA - Billie Eilish paid a tribute to Taylor Hawkins, the drummer for the Foo Fighters who died last week. As a fan, she wants to dedicate her performance to the idol.
Billie Eilish performed the song Happier Than Ever in a Willy Chavarria T-shirt with a photo of Hawkins' face on the front. On the back, there is the word Hawkins in capital letters.
Accompanied by Finneas, Eilish appeared on a stage set similar to the music video. The stage was made black with a light cream color.
Previously, Billie Eilish wore a black dress and cape on the red carpet and then changed into a Hawkins T-shirt. Until the end of the event, she wore the tribute shirt.
"(The news of Taylor Hawkins' departure) happened before we even got on stage. And when we heard about it, it made us very sad. Tragic," Billie Eilish told Access Hollywood while at the Oscars last week.

“Taylor is a legendary musician. We admired his work years before we met him. And we only met a few times… We wish we could have spent more time with him. He was such a nice, cool and generous person," said Finneas.
In addition to Billie Eilish, Taylor Hawkins was also included in the In Memoriam segment sung by Ben Platt, Cynthia Erivo, Leslie Odom Jr., and Rachel Zegler.
Foo Fighter itself brought three categories: Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Album. However, the band opted out of the Grammys because they were still in mourning.
Taylor Hawkins died in Bogota on March 25 after complaining of illness in a hotel. The investigation into the cause of his death is still ongoing.
