Recovering From A Heart Problem, Cristian Eriksen Returns To Denmark: Scores Goals In The Match Against The Netherlands
JAKARTA - Christian Eriksen's return to the Danish national team stole the attention when he scored a goal in a friendly match against the Netherlands at the Johan Cruyff Arena, Saturday local. Eriksen came on as a substitute.
Dutch striker Steven Bergwijn scored twice as the hosts won 4-2 in this match.
Eriksen scored two minutes after coming on in the second half to cut the deficit to 3-1 just before half-time.
The Denmark midfielder has been out for 288 days since suffering a near-fatal heart attack on the pitch at last year's European Championship.
Nathan Ake and Memphis Depay created the other two Dutch goals from penalties, after Jannik Vestergaard had equalized for Denmark. The match is a warm-up match for the 2022 World Cup for the two countries.
Christian Eriksen (30) also came close to scoring again in the last minute of the game.
