One TNI Member Falls, Hit By White Calya In Gambir, Central Jakarta
JAKARTA - Another accident involving a minibus with a motorbike occurred at the Kesehatan Traffic Light (TL) intersection, Suryopranoto Street, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, Monday, March 21, morning. This time the victim was a member of the TNI.
The head of the Traffic Unit (Kasat Lalu) of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Purwanta, confirmed the accident. The incident occurred around 6:05 a.m.
According to the Head of Unit, the vehicle involved in the accident was a Calya type car with police number B 1237 PIN driven by HS (35) that hit the victim Engkus Kusnawan (47) a member of the National Army. The victim was driving a motorcycle with the number B 4326 NES.
"The incident started when the car driven by HS was traveling from east to west on Suryopranoto Street, Gambir. When at the intersection where the crime occurred, the car violated the prohibition sign and hit the motorcycle driven by the victim from west to east. The motorcycle was about to turn right at Traffic Light (TL)," said Grand Commissioner Adjutant Purwanta when contacted by VOI, Monday, March 21.

As a result of the accident, the TNI member, a Tangerang resident, suffered injuries to his left leg and face. The victim was taken to the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Central Jakarta for intensive treatment.
"The cause is still under investigation. Evidence of Calya car and vehicle registration and SIM A belonging to the perpetrator and a motorbike including the vehicle registration and SIM C belonging to the victim were confiscated. We are also still asking for eyewitness accounts of the incident," he said.
Currently, the accident case is still being handled by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit.
