As Deputy Head Of The IKN Authority, Dhony Rahajoe Will Resign From Sinar Mas Land

JAKARTA - Dhony Rahajoe was officially inaugurated as Deputy Head of the Indonesian National Capital Authority (IKN) by President Joko Widodo today.

After being sworn in, Dhony admitted that he was preparing to resign from the Sinar Mas Land company. At the company, Dhony served as Managing Director of the President Office of Sinarmas Land.

"Personally, since I was sworn in, I have prepared my resignation from Sinar Mas, Sinarmas Land, and related companies. So I will focus on carrying out this fairly large, very difficult task", Dhony said in a YouTube show at the Presidential Secretariat, Thursday, 10 March.

Dhony admitted that on Wednesday, March 9, he had just received Jokowi's order to serve as Deputy Head of the IKN Authority.

The history of Dhony's appointment to lead the archipelago began with Jokowi's visit to the Green Office Park area, BSD City managed by Sinar Mas Land on Friday, December 24, 2021.

At that time, Dhony met Jokowi to see the progress of the construction of a new city by the private sector. To Jokowi, Dhony explained the concept of urban area development which would later be adapted for IKN development.

Finally, Dhony admitted that he got a call from the Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno, and was offered to be the Deputy Head of the IKN Authority Agency.

"I was contacted by Mr. Pratikno a week after the president visited the development site for a new growth center in BSD. After that, it was quite a long discussion, asking for opinions. Just last Wednesday there was an order that I was asked to help make the construction of the Capital of the Archipelago successful", he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the IKN Authority is Bambang Susantono, who is a former Deputy of Transportation in the United Indonesia Cabinet II for the 2010-2014 period. Bambang has also served as Deputy Coordinating Minister for the Economy.
