Liverpool Thrashed By Inter At Anfield, Klopp: It's Okay We Qualify
JAKARTA - Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp commented on his team's defeat to Inter Milan at Anfield Stadium in the second leg of the Champions League last 16.
Although the final score showed a 1-0 win for Inter, Klopp felt it was not a problem because it was The Reds who eventually advanced to the quarter-finals.
In the match on Wednesday, March 9, WIB, Inter Milan scored a single goal through Lautaro Martinez in the 61st minute. Even though Liverpool lost, Liverpool was not disappointed because they still qualified for the next round.
The reason is Klopp's men won 2-0 in the first leg. That's what makes them qualify for holding a 2-1 aggregate advantage.
After the match, Klopp admitted Liverpool dominated the game, but Inter actually made it difficult for them to apply the tactics that had been arranged. The coach said the Nerazzurri played very well because they were able to maximize opportunities.
"Inter is a very good team, they are always ready for these kinds of games", Klopp said after the match, reported by BT Sport.
"Inter Milan made it difficult for us, but it was in line with what I expected before", he continued.
Apart from Klopp's confession about the opponent's game, the German coach also made a surprising statement. He said it was okay for Liverpool to lose at home because in the end they still qualified for the quarter-finals.
"Over the two legs, it's okay they won one (match) but in the end, we also qualified", he said.

"The opponent caused us problems, but if we use our chances, we win this game", he regrets.
"We lost a lot of simple balls, which can happen and when the ball is in the air it's like slapstick with the wind."
