Roman Abramovich Opens Up About Plans To Sell Chelsea And Last Hope Before Leaving
JAKARTA - Russian tycoon, Roman Abramovich, is rumored to be selling Chelsea, the club he has held since 2003. He has also offered this Premier League club to several potential buyers.
After only rumors, now Roman Abramovich has finally opened up about his plans to sell Chelsea in an official statement on the club website. He admitted he had made a "very difficult" and "very painful" decision to sell Chelsea.
"I would like to address the speculation in the media over the last few days regarding my ownership of Chelsea FC. As I have stated before, I always make decisions in the best interests of the club", Abramovich said.
"Under the current circumstances, I have decided to sell the club, as I believe it is in the best interests of the club, its fans, employees and sponsors, and club partners."
He later denied it would speed up sales. However, he ensures that all processes will be carried out as they should.

"I will not ask for any loan to be repaid. This is not about business or money for me, but about pure passion for football and the club", he said.
The 55-year-old man reiterated that he had instructed my team to set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale would be donated to the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine.
"This includes providing essential funds for the immediate and immediate needs of victims, as well as supporting long-term recovery work", he said.
"Please be aware that this was a very difficult decision to make, and it was painful for me to part with the club in this way. However, I believe it is in the best interests of the club", continued the owner.
Abramovich then expressed his wish to visit Stamford Bridge one last time. He wanted to say goodbye to everyone, including the fans, all in person.
"It is a lifetime privilege to be a part of Chelsea FC and I am proud of all the achievements with us. Chelsea Football Club and its supporters will always be in my heart. Thank you", concluded Roman Abramovich.
