Dewa United Uses Different Training Methods Due To Players Still Exposed To Omicron, Touch Of The Ball Becomes The Main Focus
JAKARTA - Dewa United Surabaya coach Andika "Bedu" Saputra was forced to provide a different training method in the face of the 2022 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) continuation because several players were still exposed to the new variant of COVID-19, Omicron.
"Our preparations have been a bit hampered because since the Bandung draw until now, players and officials have been exposed to a lot of Omicron. But players can take advantage of the three weeks before the bubble to prepare physically and touch so they don't get lost", said Bedu, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, March 1.
Dewa United continues to boost preparations ahead of appearing again in the 2022 IBL which starts on March 3. The physical condition of the players and the touch of the ball became the main focus of training before entering the bubble on March 1.
In the current training method, players have to undergo several separate training sessions to avoid the spread of the virus.

"This is one of my focuses for joint and physical training issues for sure. We divide several training sessions into one day. Each session is only attended by three to four players so that there is no very widespread", said Bedu.
The joint hard work carried out by the Dewa United Surabaya players is expected to reach peak performance when IBL returns. The players were also asked to maintain their physical and health stay fit until they entered the bubble.
"During these three weeks, we have really used it to prepare for the bubble, especially from a physical point of view. The preparation for these three weeks is focused on health so that nothing is positive so that all of them can enter the bubble in a negative condition. Hopefully, those who were exposed yesterday can quickly return physically to recover. match later", said Bedu.
Dewa United Surabaya will compete again in the IBL 2022 on March 6 against Bali United Basketball at the Senayan Basketball Hall, Jakarta.
