Indonesian Badminton Association Attracts 11 Representatives From The German Open And All England
JAKARTA – Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has decided to withdraw a number of athletes from the tournament in Europe next month. A total of 11 representatives will not participate in the All England and German Open.
Previously, the Indonesian badminton parent released a list of 20 players who will go to the German Open and 22 other players to the All England. However, the number was cut for several reasons.
"So the players who were withdrawn from the German Open and All England tournaments have their own reasons. Some are still in the waiting room and find it difficult to enter the main draw, some are still recovering from injuries, and regarding readiness," said the Head of Public Relations and Media PBSI Executive Board (PP) Broto Happy in the information received.
Among the names that were withdrawn were Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo and Putri Kusuma Wardani. Both are still on the waiting list so they cannot appear in the All England and German Open.
Meanwhile, in the women's doubles, Ribka Sugiarto/Febby Valencia, Dwijayanti Gani, and Nita Violina Marwah/Putri Syaikah were also drawn. It was because Rebekah and Putri were still recovering from their injuries.
Other women's doubles that were not sent were the pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati. They had to cancel because they were ready.

Broto explained that a different case occurred in the men's doubles trio, Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, and Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, and the female stump Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
These names missed the German Open, but dropped in the All England. This was because they could not catch up with the time to apply for a visa to go to Germany because they had just finished participating in the Asian Team Badminton Championships in Malaysia.
"Considering that they only returned to the country on Monday, February 21 yesterday and must undergo quarantine first," explained Broto.
The German Open will take place on March 8-13, while the All England Super 1000 will be held on March 16-20.
