Good News, Central Bangka Regency Government Prepares Scholarships For 1.250 Elementary And Middle School Students

BANGKA - Central Bangka Regency Government, Bangka Belitung Islands Province has prepared scholarships for 1.250 elementary and junior high school students.

The head of the Central Bangka Education Office, Iskandar, said that the number of students receiving scholarships in 2022 will increase by 550 from the previous 700.

Of the 1.250 students who received educational scholarships, 750 were quotas for elementary students and 500 for junior high students.

"However, the rules for granting scholarships this year have changed. We no longer provide money but school equipment," he said in Koba, Antara, Friday, February 11.

He said that the previous year each child received a scholarship of IDR 600.000 and this year, it is IDR 750.000.

Scholarships are again in the form of money, he said, but are replaced with school supplies, such as shoes and bags.

"The scholarship budget comes from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) of Central Bangka Regency," he said.

Iskandar said the provision of educational scholarships in the form of school equipment to be more targeted and effective.

"If it is in the form of goods or school equipment, we think it is more targeted than in the form of money," he said.
