Immigrants Bring Objects Wrapped In Black And Yellow Wires Like Bombs, The Rejang Lebong Police Has Not Confirmed That It Is Related To Terrorism

REJANG LEBONG - Rejang Lebong Resort Police officers, Bengkulu Police, secured an object resembling a bomb which was found in a bag belonging to a resident of the migrants to the area.

Rejang Lebong Police Chief, AKBP Tonny Kurniawan, said the bomb-like object was secured from an unknown person while in Air Lanang Village, South Curup District, at 09.30 WIB.

Until now, the suspicious object is still waiting for an investigation by the Bengkulu Police Gegana team.

"It started with a report from the public to the Bhabinkamtibmas officer, then our officers searched the suspected migrant while on the street and then a suspicious object was found in the bag in question", said Tonny at the Rejang Lebong Police Headquarters, quoted by Antara on Wednesday, February 9.

He explained that the suspicious object was brought by a migrant resident from Jambi Province with the initials JM, aged about 33 years. JM has been living in Air Lanang Village for a month.

This suspicious bomb-like object was wrapped in black and yellow wires. The shape is almost round with a predominance of black.

He also could not confirm whether the suspicious object was an improvised bomb, and whether the person who brought it was related to a terrorist network or not. All of them are still waiting for the results of the investigation and investigation carried out by the authorities.

 

He appealed to the people of Rejang Lebong to report to the officers and the head of the local RT and RW (Citizens Association) if suspicious and unknown people arrived at their residence so that they could be monitored immediately.

On-field observations, officers placed this bomb-like object in a flower pot in the Rejang Lebong Police Headquarters yard. This homemade bomb-like object was wrapped in yellow wires and wrapped in black duct tape and equipped with batteries and several tubes resembling binoculars.
