Timor Leste National Team Arrives In Jakarta, Undergoes Bubble Quarantine 4 Days Before Fighting Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Timor Leste national team has arrived in Indonesia. They must undergo quarantine for four days before flying to Bali to face the Indonesian national team in the FIFA international break.

The Indonesian and Timor Leste national teams will duel in two matches at the end of this month. They are scheduled to meet on January 27 and 30 at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali.

"Currently Timor Leste has arrived in Jakarta and has conducted a bubble quarantine for four days", said PSSI Secretary-General, Yunus Nusi, in a statement received by VOI.

Timor Leste will fly to Bali on January 24 next. Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team was already on the island of the Gods with coach Shin Tae-yong.

The majority of Indonesian players needed by the South Korean coach were indeed there. The reason is, they are currently playing in the Indonesian League 1 competition for the 2022 season.

"The Indonesian national team has also conducted training in Bali today. We hope that the match will run smoothly and the Garuda squad will win, which will certainly add points to the FIFA rankings", said Yunus.

Indonesia's match against Timor Leste is also part of the preparations for the 2022 AFF U-23 Cup in Cambodia in February. Indonesia needs a win to improve its FIFA ranking.

Shin Tae-yong has called up 27 players to prepare for the trial against Timor Leste. The coach retains the majority of the players who performed well in the 2020 AFF Cup.

In addition, the 51-year-old coach also brought several new names into his squad. A total of eight new faces were called, including Marselino Ferdinand.
