Persib Defeats Borneo FC Through Rashid's Single Goal, Coach Robert: Needs Improvement In Terms Of Game Transitions

JAKARTA - A single goal from Mohammed Rashid brought Persib Bandung to win the match against Borneo FC with a score of 1-0 in Week 20 of Liga 1 at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, Tuesday.

This victory made Persib temporarily move up to second place in the Liga 1 standings with 40 points from 20 matches, while Borneo FC was still stuck in 7th place with a score of 30 points.

After the match, Maung Bandung coach Robert Alberts could not hide his happiness. He praised his team's defense.

"It's good to get the three points. I think the boys have played regularly in terms of defense," said Robert, quoted from Persib's official website, Wednesday.

However, Alberts admitted that the game of Victor Igbonefo and his friends still needed improvement, especially in terms of game transitions.

"A little slow in important terms, the transition from defense to attack. This makes it easy for Borneo FC to counter-attack. But they also pile up a lot of players in front of goal, except in the last 20 minutes," he continued.

The Dutch coach believes his front players will soon appear sharper.

"I think we were unlucky not to be able to score more goals, even though there were quite a lot of chances created. But if we continue to do so, our strikers will score more goals and that will be a positive thing," concluded Alberts.
