Chairman Of The Special Committee For Spraying Fadli Zon About The Name Of Jokowi's IKN
Chairman of the Special Committee for the IKN Bill, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, responded to the criticism of a member of Commission I House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Fadli Zon, who said that the name Nusantara was not suitable for the name of the new state capital (IKN) in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan. Fadli suggested that the name IKN be taken from the name of the president, namely Jokowi.
According to Doli, the government has carefully considered the choice of the name Nusantara. He analogized parents who would not carelessly give names to their children.
"The matter of this name, of course, has been carefully considered, so if we are parents of a child who wants to be born, our name should be prepared properly, searched for it, Istikharah (pray for Allah's guidance) first then read a book, ask questions here and there. We are looking for philosophy, history, and time. Their government's explanation has discussed up to 80 names until Nusantara is the choice", said Doli at the House of Representatives Building, Monday, January 18.

The chairman of House of Representatives Commission II said that the name Nusantara represented all.
"Tamagola's explanation (Professor of FISIP UI, ed) is very good, when we talk about Indonesia we talk in a sociopolitical context, when we talk about Nusantara, we talk about sociocultural, representing all Indonesian people. So the capital city of the country is called Nusantara, it represents all components of the nation-state and all sociocultural", explained Doli.
The deputy head of the Golkar Party emphasized that the name Nusantara was the best. If then there are people who are dissatisfied and disagree, according to Doli, it is a normal thing.
"If there is someone, 'Why is the child's name', it will be difficult for us", said Doli.
It is known, Member of the House of Representatives from the Gerindra Party Faction Fadli Zon criticized the name of the new State Capital (IKN) which agreed to be called Nusantara.
According to Fadli, the name Nusantara is not suitable for the capital city that will be transferred to East Kalimantan.
"Nusantara is not suitable as the name of the new capital city", said Fadli Zon via his Twitter account @fadlizon, which was seen by VOI on Tuesday, January 18.
The member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives also proposed that the name IKN be taken from the name of the President, such as the capital city of Kazakhstan. Namely, the name of the new state capital is Jokowi.
"The archipelago has its own understanding as an Indonesian territory, not to mention there is 'Insight of the Archipelago'. My suggestion is to name the capital city directly 'Jokowi'. It is the same as the capital city of Kazakhstan Nursultan (from the name of President Nursultan Nazarbayev)", he explained.
Previously, the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa explained the meaning of the chosen word Nusantara.
"Nusantara is a concept of actualization of the geographical area of a country in which there are islands united by the ocean", said Suharso at the House of Representatives Building, Monday, January 17.
According to him, the islands united by the sea show that the Indonesian nation is a maritime country. Then it was revealed an acknowledgment of geographical diversity based on cultural, ethnic, and ethnic diversity.
"So Nusantara is a unitary concept that is willing to accommodate pluralism", he said.
Suharso said the name Nusantara also implies the reality of Indonesia. "Through the name Nusantara, it reveals the reality of Indonesia", he explained.
