Makmum 2 Successful, Titi Kamal Ready to Play Horror Again
JAKARTA - The film Makmum 2, starring Titi Kamal, won the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) award as the first film with one million viewers during the pandemic. Christian Sugiono's wife said she wanted to continue exploring her acting skills by starring in various film genres.
"I'm still me who likes to explore anywhere where the story is good and the characters are well explored. It's just a coincidence that after 'Makmum 2' I have another film that wants to be shown, namely 'Jailangkung 3' and it's horror again," said Titi Kamal when press conference in Jakarta, Friday, January 14.
"But I don't want to be stuck in horror, I will continue to explore in any genre," she asserted.
Makmum, which aired on August 15, 2019, became the first horror film starring Titi Kamal. She was then again trusted to play the main character in Makmum 2 which aired on December 30, 2021.
In Makmum 2, which was directed by Guntur Soeharjanto, Titi Kamal played Rini who was left behind by the aunt who raised her. When she returned to her hometown to mourn, she got a lot of disturbances by spirits.

On the first day of its broadcast, Makmum 2 managed to gather 46,185 viewers. Then on Friday, Dee Company announced the film won a MURI record as the first film during the COVID-19 pandemic to reach one million viewers.
Regarding this achievement, Titi Kamal admitted that she was proud and at the same time not expecting it, considering that currently, many Hollywood films are currently showing in theaters.
"I'm really proud. I'm even more proud because I can also play with Mr. Guntur, as well as with players who are incredibly dedicated. Supported by Mr. Dheeraj (producer) who also facilitates us with the atmosphere of the shooting location, supporting equipment. So this is work with an extraordinary team," said Titi Kamal.
