High Intensity Rain Is Predicted For Kupang And Alor In The Next Few Days, Residents Are Asked To Be Alert
KUPANG - El Tari Kupang Meteorological Station, Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) appealed to residents to be aware of the potential for high rainfall categories in Kupang Regency and Alor Regency for the next few days.
"These two regencies are predicted to be in the category of high rainfall (151-200 millimeters) in Dasarian II January 2022, so we need to be careful," said Head of the El Tari Kupang Meteorological Station Agung Sudiono Abadi in Kupang, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 11.
He said this was related to the deterministic forecast of rainfall on the second Dasarian in January 2020 in the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) region.
Agung explained that in Basis II, in general, the NTT area is estimated to experience moderate rainfall (51-100 millimeters).
A number of districts experience low rainfall (0-55 millimeters) such as in a small part of Ngada, Sikka, East Sumba, and most of Nagekeo, Ende, South Central Timor, North Central Timor, Malacca.
However, several areas will experience high rainfall, namely a small part of Kupang and Alor Regencies.

Agung appealed to residents, especially in areas that have the potential to be hit by high rainfall, to increase awareness of the threat of hydrometeorological disasters such as floods, flash floods, landslides, and lightning strikes.
He advised residents not to go outside when it rains unless there is a very urgent need.
In addition, securing important items or documents to be safe from the threat of disaster and carrying out various disaster mitigation measures.
