In Just One Day, Inpatients At Wisma Atlet Hospital Increase By 98 People

JAKARTA - The number of patients being treated at the Special Emergency Hospital for COVID-19 Wisma Atlet Kemayoran, Jakarta, as of Thursday, January 6, increased by 98 people, compared to the figure on the previous day, Wednesday, January 5.

"Inpatients confirmed positive (COVID-19) in Towers 5 and 6 as many as 1.304 people, while the original number (one day earlier) was 1.206 people. There was an addition of 98 inpatients," said Head of Information for the Joint Defense Region I National Armed Forces (TNI) Command, Colonel Marines Aris Mudian, reported by Antara, Thursday, January 6.

He also said that from March 23, 2020, to January 6, 2022, the number of patients referred to the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital was 131.435 people.

Of that number, 128.476 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from the hospital, while 1.059 patients were referred to other hospitals.

The head of information for Defense Area Joint Command I (Kogabwilhan) TNI noted that 596 patients died at the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital as of January 6, 2022.

On the same occasion, Aris also conveyed the development of the situation at the Galang Island Special Hospital for Infection (RSKI), Batam, Riau Islands.

The number of inpatients at the Galang Island Hospital as of Thursday was 212 people.

"There are 212 inpatients, of which 144 are men and 68 are women. The 212 patients were all confirmed positive for COVID-19," said Aris as quoted from his written statement.

He noted that in the last 24 hours there have been two fewer inpatients at the Galang Island Hospital. "As of January 6, 2022, there were 212 inpatients, originally (one day earlier) 214 people," he asserted.

From April 12, 2020, to January 6, 2022, the Galang Island Hospital received a total of 17.985 patients. Of that number, 17.772 patients have been discharged from the hospital, he said, Thursday. Galang Island RSKI reported that until January 6, 2022, one patient died due to COVID-19.
