Survey Results, 80 Percent Of The Public Satisfied With Jokowi's Performance, 19.5 Percent Say They Are Not Satisfied

JAKARTA - The results of a survey conducted by the survey agency Indometer showed that more than 80 percent of the public said they were satisfied with the performance of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"The findings of the survey conducted by Indometer show that 80.2 percent of the people are satisfied, and even 8.8 percent of them are very satisfied," Indometer Executive Director Leonard SB said in a written statement received in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Thursday, December 30.

Meanwhile, 19.5 people said they were dissatisfied with President Jokowi's performance. Then, 1.4 percent of them said they were not satisfied at all.

"The easing of the COVID-19 pandemic and the world's acknowledgment of Indonesia has prompted a high level of satisfaction with President Jokowi," he said.

The COVID-19 pandemic is currently winding down. This is indicated by the low addition of daily cases. The situation was the opposite when the second wave hit in July to August 2021, with daily cases soaring to more than 50 thousand per day. Likewise, the death rate has increased dramatically.

As a result, health facilities in the country almost collapsed because they were filled with COVID-19 patients. The Government's move to implement the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) has succeeded in suppressing community mobilization, so that the transmission of the virus can be controlled. However, on the other hand, the economy was hit again with strict social restrictions.

Then, along with the decline in COVID-19 cases, the Government began to loosen PPKM and intensified vaccinations.

Vaccination rates that were previously thought to be slow are starting to move quickly. This is also supported by the previous anticipatory efforts to secure the supply of vaccines from a number of producing countries.

As a result, the pandemic in Indonesia can be handled relatively quickly when compared to neighboring countries.

At the same time, Indonesia's role at the global level is increasingly being taken into account by serving as the G-20 Presidency throughout 2022. It doesn't stop there, the international community trusts Indonesia to become the Chair of ASEAN in 2023.

"This is an indicator that Indonesia's position is increasingly strategic, both on the world stage and at the regional level," he also said.
