JAKARTA - Actor Hugh Jackman announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

Wednesday, December 29, Jackman uploaded a 30-second video on Instagram. He explained that at that time he started having the flu and his throat was itchy.

"I want you to hear from me that I tested positive for COVID-19 this morning", Hugh Jackman said in a video posted on social media.

"I will do whatever it takes to get better as soon as possible and when I am clean (of COVID-19), I will return to the stage", he said again. Meanwhile, Hugh Jackman had received the vaccine in early December.

Currently, Hugh Jackman is busy starring in the Broadway musical entitled The Music Man. He became the second person to test positive after co-star Sutton Foster tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

Due to the presence of two positive performers, the production of The Music Man canceled the entire stage until January 1, 2022. “All tickets are refundable and exchangeable. The musical stage will resume on January 2", the production said on Twitter.

As long as Hugh Jackman goes through the quarantine process, his role in The Music Man will be replaced by another actor.
