These Are The Side Effects Of Children After Being Injected With The COVID-19 Vaccine, Parents Should Know
JAKARTA - Side effects in children who receive the COVID-19 vaccine are usually only mild symptoms. The child will gradually improve after resting and drinking enough.
"Parents should know, what are the possibilities that arise after being given the vaccine. Like other vaccines, maybe after that the child is weak, muscle aches like flu, then fever, maybe nausea, but usually mild and 1-2 days he will be fine with rest, drink enough," said the Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI) Immunization Task Force Dr. Mei Neni Sitaresmi in Jakarta, Friday, December 24.
"If it really bothers you, you can give paracetamol," she said at the event "Covid-19 Vaccines for Children 6-11 Years Old are Safe".
She asked parents not to give paracetamol if there were no side effects. Other side effects, he said, include pain at the injection site.
"Maybe the injection site is swollen, painful, yes, that's normal," she said.
However, she explained that the symptoms that arise after the vaccine are usually not caused by the vaccine itself but because of the effects of stress-related to the vaccine.
"What is quite a lot is the immunization stress-related response, so it's not because of the vaccine, but because of the process of being injected," she said.

Therefore, to minimize the occurrence of these side effects, parents need to prepare their children before being vaccinated and follow the screening process honestly.
"This can be prevented and must be prevented, of course with good screening. Therefore, parents must be honest at the time of screening," he said.
His party explained that until now the vaccine recommended for registration is the Sinovac vaccine which is given to children aged 6-11 years twice with a distance of 1 month and is carried out in schools and health facilities.
If the child is receiving another vaccine, the COVID-19 vaccine must be given at least 14 days after the other vaccine is given, said Mei Neni Sitaresmi, reported by Antara.
