Six Foreigners From China Arrested For Illegal Mining Are Subjected To Different Sanctions
JAYAPURA - Head of the Immigration Division of the Papua Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office Novianto Sulastono stated that six foreign nationals (WNA) from China who were arrested in Wapoga, Waropen Regency for allegedly carrying out illegal mining were subject to different sanctions.
The six Chinese foreigners who were arrested last November 20, three of them are Yan Gamping and Ge Jungfeng, and Tan Liguo. In addition to being deported, Tan Liguo will be included in the list of names banned from entering Indonesia.
"Three other residents, namely Tang Lihua, Lan Feng, and Lu Huacheng, will delegate their cases to the Directorate of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement in Jakarta," Novianto said in a statement to reporters in Jayapura, Thursday, December 16.
The Head of the Immigration Division, who was accompanied by the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Anthonius Ayorbaba, the Head of the Correctional Division Kusnali, and the Head of Biak Immigration, Edward Infaidan, explained that after being arrested by members of the Wapoga Koramil, the six foreigners from China were taken to the Yapen Kodim in Serui and then to Biak to be handed over to the Immigration Office for processing.
"From their statement to Waropen on orders from a colleague who is currently in quarantine in Jakarta upon his return from China," he said.

His colleague works in Nabire and the case is still being investigated, said Novianto, adding that of the six foreigners who were arrested, only three people were arrested. brought their passports while the other three admitted that their passports were kept by the sponsor.
They entered Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta Airport separately and some even entered since May 12, 2018, namely Tan Liguo using an on arrival (VOA) visa which was valid for only 30 days so that apart from being deported, he was also given additional sanctions, namely being put on a block list.
When asked when they were deported and the case transferred to Jakarta, Novianto admitted that he was still waiting for the completeness of the administration and the results of the investigation conducted by the Dirkrimsus Polda Papua.
The Papuan Police had sent their investigators to Biak to examine the six Chinese foreigners, explained Novianto.
