Omicron Detected In Indonesia, General Sigit Asks For Accelerated Vaccination And Improves Health Care Monitoring
JAKARTA - National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, ordered all his staff to speed up the vaccination process and increase supervision of health protocols. The order was issued following the entry of a new variant of COVD-19, Omicron, to Indonesia.
"Of course we have to be more vigilant and still obey the health protocols because this Omicron is five times faster in transmission", said Sigit in his statement, Thursday, December 16.
Moreover, currently, there are still many areas where the percentage of vaccination is below 70 percent. In fact, the government has set a target for the end of the year.
"So the acceleration of vaccination must be carried out, especially in areas where vaccination is still low. It is our duty to achieve and catch up with this gap and maintain the achievements that have been obtained thanks to the hard work of all stakeholders with the community", said Sigit.

"This is our target because the Government, Mr. President, has asked us in all regions, especially those whose vaccination achievement has not reached 70 percent, to continue to be pushed with various strategies. So it is hoped that by the end of December everything will be at 70 percent", he continued.
In fact, to his staff and Forkopimda, Sigit emphasized that the acceleration of vaccination acceleration must continue to be maximized. However, there are only two weeks left to create communal immunity.
"We still have two weeks. So what has been the target of the President, namely the achievement of 70 percent, please really push it. How do colleagues carry out field strategies according to the conditions of their respective regions", said Sigit.
