A 17-year-old Girl Who Was Raped By Her Uncle In Serang, Was Asked For An Abortion When She Was 5 Months Pregnant
JAKARTA - Serang City Police Chief Maruli Ahiles Hutapea confirmed the arrest of DYS (49) related to the rape case against KR (17). The victim is the nephew of the perpetrator's wife. So far, the victim has given birth to a 2-month-old baby.
Maruli explained that DYS's arrest was carried out at his home, in Kramatwatu District, Serang Regency, Banten.
"Yes, it is true, that the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of Serang City Police, Banten has arrested DYS, the perpetrator of sexual abuse of minors at his residence," said Maruli Ahiles Hutapea through a message received by VOI, Thursday, December 16.
Maruli also explained that the disclosure of this case began with the report of the victim's mother, YS (40).
"The arrest was based on the report of YS (40) who is the victim's mother," he continued.
Based on the results of the examination of the suspect, Maruli said that at that time DYS entered the victim's room and then asked the victim to have sex. Then, continued Maruli, the victim refused and the perpetrator was angry and threatened not to be given pocket money.
"In April 2021, at around 13.00 p.m. at the perpetrator's house in Kramatwatu District, Serang Regency. At first, the victim was playing on the cellphone then the perpetrator entered the victim's room then the perpetrator asked the victim to have sex while telling the victim 'Would you like it or not while the mother wasn't there'. Then the victim refused, then the victim left the room crying, then the perpetrator approached the victim angrily at the victim and threatened the victim "Be careful if you ask for anything you won't get it." Then the victim went back into the room crying and the perpetrator followed the victim inside into the room while seducing the victim to give pocket money." said Maruli Hutapea.

Furthermore, five months later the victim was pregnant. The perpetrator took the victim to a traditional birth attendant but she refused.
"When the victim was five months pregnant, the victim was taken to a traditional birth attendant by the perpetrator for an abortion in the Bandung area. But the victim refused. Currently, the victim has given birth to a two-month-old baby and is being treated at the Integrated Service Center for Women and Children Empowerment (P2TP2A) safe house in Serang City," he explained again.
DYS is subjected to Article 81 Paragraph (2) and (3) in conjunction with Article 82 Paragraph (1) and (2) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to the Law of the Republic of Indonesia of 2002 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with Article 64 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 15 years in prison.
