Shin Tae-yong Asks Indonesia Not To Imitate Malaysia Which Is Too Respectful To Vietnam
JAKARTA - Vietnam has been waiting for the Indonesian national team in the continued match of the 2021 AFF Cup Group B phase which will take place tomorrow Wednesday. Ahead of the match, Shin Tae-yong asked his children not to imitate Malaysia's mistakes which were considered too respectful to Vietnam.
Malaysia lost 0-3 to Vietnam because the players were considered too respectful and shy to the opponent. Shin Tae-yong, who was mentioned about this, believes that Evan Dimas and his friends will face Vietnam with all their strength.
"It's quite possible to think like that (Malaysia has too much respect for Vietnam) but our young players are preparing themselves for the best on the field. They will go all out to win without mercy", said Shin Tae-yong during an online press conference attended by VOI on Tuesday, December 14th.
Shin Tae-yong admits his potential opponent is one of the strong teams. Vietnam is a real threat to the national team, which are both in Group B.
"Obviously Vietnam is a good team and they are quite strong. Despite losing six times in World Cup Qualifiers, they are the strongest in the 2020 AFF Cup and can be a threat", Tae-yong continued.

Despite his comments about the potential opponents for Indonesia, Shin Tae-yong still has high hopes for Gruda's players. Because he also believes his team's performance will continue to improve after going through several matches that closed with wins.
"For tomorrow's match (against Vietnam) the preparations are going well. Indeed, there are still players who have not joined but we will prepare optimally to perform well and win", said the coach.
Against Vietnam will be a crucial match for the national team. Because, if you win, the Garuda squad will have a clear path to the semifinals. If they lose, the national team still has to go through a life and death match against Malaysia in the last party.
