Arsenal Defeated By Everton, Arteta Highlights Young Players' Performance
JAKARTA - Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta admitted that he was disappointed with the defeat his team suffered when they traveled to Everton headquarters on Tuesday, December 7 in the morning. From that unsatisfactory result, Arteta highlighted the performance of the Gunners' young players.
In the meeting of the 15th week of the 2021 Premier League at Goodison Park, Arsenal was forced to go home with a sluggish face. That's because Arteta's team lost 1-2 to the host, Everton.
The Gunners actually had already stolen the host's advantage during the match in the first half. The opening goal was contributed by Martin Odegaard, but in the second half the hosts turned things around with two goals from Richarlison and Damarai Gray near the end of the match.

After the match, Arteta criticized Arsenal's game in this match. Apart from wasting opportunities, he said the Gunners players did not play well when they had the ball.
Not only that, but Arteta also highlighted young players who had the opportunity to play but were not optimal. Arteta wants them to be players who learn quickly from mistakes.
"They are young but they have to learn quickly. Against Manchester United we had the same (scoring chances) and deserved more but didn't get points," Mikel Arteta was quoted as saying on Arsenal's official website, Tuesday, December 7.
"Away from home, you can't give the opposition anything. They were strong enough. We had chances to score and when we didn't it wasn't good enough. The performance, in general, was not good enough," continued Arteta disappointed.
This defeat at home to Everton has made Arsenal unable to get out of a negative trend, where last week Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his friends also lost to Manchester United 2-3.
This is Arsenal's third defeat in the last five matches in the Premier League. These results make them now stuck in seventh place standings with 23 points.
