These Are BI's Three Agendas For Advancing The Islamic Economy, From Developing Financing Instruments To Muslim Fashion Shows
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) is committed to continuing to support the development of the domestic sharia-based industry. This was conveyed by BI Governor Perry Warjiyo during a virtual press conference after meeting with Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in Jakarta.
According to Perry, the central bank will play an important role in three ways. First, encourage the increasingly massive halal products and halal fashion in the country.
"Earlier, we have coordinated with the Minister of Trade, we will hold Muslim fashion shows in several places," he said on Tuesday, November 30.
Second, is the development of financial instruments in accordance with Islamic principles and principles.
"In the field of Islamic finance, Bank Indonesia continues to develop financial instruments in the money market, including the Bank Indonesia sukuk as well as hedging instruments and also Islamic finance inclusive financing," he said.

The third is the plan for the Islamic economy festival event to be evenly distributed in the territory of Indonesia.
"Every year we hold three sharia economic festivals, namely those that take place in Eastern, Central, and Western Indonesia. And don't forget to hold ISEF once, namely the Islamic Sharia Economic Festival," he said.
For information, based on data released by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, it was stated that the Islamic Finance Index ranking of Indonesia rose in 2020 to rank sixth in the world. Then, the fashion industry is at the third level in the world, halal recreation is in the fifth position, and halal cosmetics and pharmaceuticals are in sixth place.
