Christmas-New Year Holiday Security Scheme, Police Establish 3,184 Posts Throughout Indonesia

JAKARTA - The National Police has stated that it will establish 3,184 security posts related to the 2021 Christmas and New Year 2022 holidays. Thousands of security posts are spread throughout Indonesia.

"There are around 3,184 security posts established", said Head of Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, to reporters on Monday, November 29.

Then, the National Police will also prepare 1,113 service posts. The purpose of establishing this security and service post is to ensure that there are no crowds during the holiday period.

"Where activities rather than security posts and service posts are at the bottom of the government's policy, with Christmas and New Year 2021 this can go well", said Rusdi.

"Being part of how we together can control COVID-19 in the country", he continued.

On the other hand, in preventing crowds, the Police will also carry out Candle Operations. Where, in the activity involved thousands of joint personnel.

"In this candle operation, 179,814 personnel were involved, including the National Police, 103,109 Polri personnel, then 19,017 TNI personnel, the rest are from the Regional Government and the police partners involved in it", said Rusdi.

Previously, the National Police stated that community mobility would increase during the 2021 and 2022 Christmas holidays. In fact, it was predicted that 70 percent of the people would travel.

"The response from the community is 70 percent will want to go home, but 30 percent choose to stay at home", said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo.

In addition, in the pattern of security, the Police apply a micro-scale PPKM post scheme. Where, the scheme follows up on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs number 62 of 2021.

The joint team will check the completeness of the documents of the people who will travel out of town. The document in question is an In and Out Letter (SKM). Where, the letter was issued by RT related to travel information.

"So every community who will travel must go through a micro-scale PPKM post. Later the SKM will be issued by the head of the RT (Neighborhood Association), namely a travel certificate", said Dedi.
