PPKM Level 3 Plan, MPR Leader: Success Depends On Local Government And Community

JAKARTA - The government plans to raise all levels of community activity restrictions (PPKM) to level 3 throughout Indonesia during the Christmas and New Year 2022 period.

This is to anticipate a spike in new cases of COVID-19 in the year-end holiday season.

Related to this, the Deputy Chair of the Indonesia People's Consultative Assembly, Lestari Moerdijat, reminded that the readiness of the local government and the community is important for the success of the PPKM level 3 plan.

"The success of PPKM level 3 at the end of the year is highly dependent on the readiness of the local government and the community", said Lestari in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 23.

According to him, the realization of the COVID-19 control policy ahead of the year-end holiday period that has been determined will greatly depend on the implementation by stakeholders and the community in each region. Therefore, consistency is needed in every implementation.

On the other hand, Rerie added, public understanding of the COVID-19 spread control strategy implemented by the government is also very important.

Without good cooperation between stakeholders and the community in each region in implementing the policy, according to this member of the NasDem Party High Council, it is difficult to get good results.

"So, when the policy is in effect, implementation in the field can effectively control the spread of COVID-19 in the country", concluded Rerie.
