Anies Limits The Number Of Spectators For The 2021 IYC Tournament At JIS

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, stated that the committee limited the number of spectators at the final of the International Youth Championship (IYC) tournament at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on December 11, 2021.

“We are starting to open but the number is still limited. We haven't been able to fill it, even though the stadium has a capacity of 82 thousand, but what might be used is certainly not that much", said Anies, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 18.

Even so, the Governor of DKI did not reveal the capacity allowed at the peak of the tournament which was attended by world clubs, namely Real Madrid U-18, Atletico Madrid U-18, Barcelona U-18, and Indonesia Selection U-20.

However, according to the provisions in the DKI Governor's Decree Number 1369 of 2021 which takes effect on November 16, 2021, sports facilities are allowed to open with stricter implementation of health protocols, namely a maximum capacity of 75 percent and must use the Peduli Protect application.

Anies added that during the final match, JIS construction was still not 100 percent completed or estimated at around 85 percent.

Even so, he continued, the main facilities at JIS were ready for the football match, including mandatory supporting facilities.

The plan is that the IYC final event at JIS will also be the initial launch event for the stadium in North Jakarta.

The 2021 International Youth Championship will take place in Bali and DKI Jakarta with the preliminary round taking place from 4-8 December 2021 at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar Regency, Bali.

Then, the final round will be held at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) North Jakarta on December 11, 2021.

Meanwhile, in a virtual press conference the Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster, wanted permission for the audience to give 25 percent of the seating capacity of the Captain Dipta Stadium.

The seating capacity or single seat is around 10,800 seats at the Captain Dipta Stadium.

Koster added that the number of participants, both players, and officials of the four clubs, reached 150 people.

"If allowed, we will apply strict health protocols and apply the Care Protect application, even though the audience is allowed 25 percent, it will still be well maintained", he said.
