JAKARTA - Anti-terror Detachment 88 arrested Ustaz Farid Okbah, Ahmad Zain An Najah, and Anung Al-Hamad. Where, their arrest is based on the information of dozens of terrorists who have been arrested.
Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said that based on the results of the investigation report (BAP) of suspected terrorists, the names Farid Okbah, Ahmad Zain, and Anung Al-Hamad were said to be members of the Jamaah Islamiyah network.
"(Referring to) the statements of 28 witnesses who are suspects (of terrorism) who have been arrested previously," Rusdi told reporters, Wednesday, November 17.
Moreover, from the results of the deepening of the evidence collected, they are strongly suspected of being involved in funding the JI network. One of the proofs is the document related to Amil Zakat Baitul Mal Abdurrahman bin Auf (LAZ BM ABA).
"The three people are involved in the financing activities of the JI terrorist group," said Rusdi.
"Those are some of the pieces of evidence that were obtained, so that with this evidence, Densus has confidence that the person concerned is involved in the JI terrorist group," continued Rusdi.
Evidently, the three suspected terrorists had a major role in the J network. For example, Farid Okbah who was a syuro council or an elder at JI and the sharia board at Amil Zakat Baitul Mal Abdurrahman bin Auf (LAZ BM ABA).
He is also known to have given cash for the shield of the esa archipelago which is a wing of JI. In fact, Farid is said to have communicated with suspected terrorist Arif Siswanto who was arrested earlier.
Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, stated that the communication was related to the formation of a new forum from JI. The formation was also to secure other JI members after its leader Parawijayanto was arrested.
"The party formed by FAO is the Indonesian People's Da'wah Party or PDRI," said Ramadhan.
Then, Ahmad Zain An-Najah who was arrested at Pondok Melati Bekasi, was said to have played a role in the JI Suryo Council and the LAZ BM ABA board.
And thirdly, Anung Al-Hamat, who reportedly worked as a lecturer, was arrested on Jalan Raya Legok, Blok Mosque, Jatimelati, Pondok Melati, Bekasi City. He is active in JI-related activities.

On the other hand, the National Police emphasized that the prosecution of the three was not criminalization. This is because the action is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.
“That the Densus action in this case is to prioritize public security and order. It has nothing to do with institutions or criminalization," said the Head of the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Assistance Section for the National Police, Kombes Aswin Siregar.
In addition, action was also taken after there was evidence that they were involved in JI. Where, Jamaah Islamiyah is a banned organization.
"Where do we know the JI group is a banned group or organization based on court decisions that have been set in the Republic of Indonesia," said Aswin.
In addition, internationally the JI group is also declared a global terror organization as stated in UN resolutions.
"So anyone, someone who is affiliated or active in a group together with the Jamaah Oslamiyah group and goes through a process of proof, will be faced with a law enforcement process. So what must be underlined is not the clothes, not the outward appearance, not the status, so it is involvement in a group that has been declared a terror group," Aswin asserted.
