Legitimate! Jokowi Inaugurates General Andika As TNI Commander To Replace Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has officially inaugurated General Andika Perkasa as TNI (Army) Commander replacing Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto who retired this year.
This inauguration activity was held at the State Palace, Jakarta on Wednesday, November 17 at around 13.30 WIB. From the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show, the event was carried out with strict health protocols.
During the event, President Jokowi was accompanied by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin. Several guests were also present, including the Chairman of the Indonesia House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, and the Chairperson of the Indonesia People's Consultative Assembly, Bambang Soesatyo.
In addition, it was also seen at the inauguration location, namely the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri and other invitees.
The event began with singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya. Furthermore, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 106/TNI/2021 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces.
"Decided to appoint and continue to honorably dismiss Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto from his position as Commander of the TNI, accompanied by thanks for his dedication and services that were donated to the nation and state of the Republic of Indonesia while holding this position", said Presidential Military Secretary Marsda M. Tonny Harjono when reading the Presidential Decree.
"To appoint General TNI Andika Perkasa as Commander of the Indonesian National Army", he added.
After the decree was read, President Jokowi then led the oath taking by Andika Perkasa.
"By Allah, I swear that I will be loyal to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia which is based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations as straight as possible for the sake of my service to the nation and state", Andika said at the time. read the oath.
"That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold the ethics of my position, work as well as possible, with a full sense of responsibility. That I will uphold the oath of soldiers," he added.

After reading the oath, Andika then signed the minutes of his appointment as TNI Commander. In the signing, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD acted as witnesses.
This event was then continued with the handing over of the rank of office and the baton of command.
Furthermore, President Jokowi is scheduled to inaugurate the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) Lt. Gen. Dudung Abdurachman. Just like Andika, he will be inaugurated at the State Palace, Jakarta.
