The ProDem Report On Luhut And Erick's Collusion Was Rejected, The Reason Was Having To Write A Letter To The Head Of Polda Metro Jaya

JAKARTA - Reports made by Pro-Democracy Activists (ProDEM) against Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and Erick Thohir regarding alleged collusion and nepotism were officially rejected by the police. The reason is that they were asked to first write to the leadership of the Metro Jaya Police.

"We have to write a letter first. This is the first time that a community group wants to file a complaint against a criminal act committed by a state administrator, they must first write a letter to the head of the Regional Police", said Chair of the ProDEM Assembly, Iwan Sumule, to reporters, Monday, November 15.

Iwan said that writing should not be included in the procedure for making a report. So, it is considered just an excuse to cover up injustice.

"Why do we have to write a letter just to make a report. We regret that the police do not give the same treatment to ProDem", he said briefly.

Prodem will report Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and Erick Thohir regarding the alleged PCR procurement business. However, reporting is more about collusion and nepotism.

"Because we see that collusion and nepotism, we don't report on corruption, but we report that collusion and nepotism are also criminal acts, criminal acts", said the Head of ProDem, Iwan Sumule to reporters, Monday, November 15.

The reason for the report, said Iwan, was because, in the procurement of PCR equipment by PT GSI, Luhut had a stake in the company.

As for Erick Thohir, it was his brother who got the procurement project. So, it is strongly suspected that there was an act of collusion and nepotism.

"Well, that's why we want to convey that Mr. Luhut, Mr. Erick have admitted that he is in PT GSI which got the PCR test procurement project", said Iwan.

"This means that the elements that meet the question of collusion and nepotism are clear, how is it that Mr. Erick, as the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises and the representative for handling economic recovery, is clear that the one receiving the PCR test project is Erick Thohir's older brother, there is nepotism and also has shares in PT GSI", he continued.
