Anticipating The Entry Of COVID-19 AY.4.2, Secretary General Of The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Asks For Tightening The Entry Gate For Foreigners

JAKARTA - In the midst of the decline in the number of COVID-19, Indonesia has begun to open immigration and border gates as entry points for foreign nationals (WNA).

Secretary-General of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Andap Budhi Revianto requested that regional offices (Kanwil) and technical implementing units that serve as crossings for foreigners tighten health protocols (prokes). This is done to avoid a spike in COVID-19, as well as to prevent the entry of the Coronavirus.

This was conveyed by Andap in his directive to all State Civil Apparatuses (ASN) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights while attending the Hero's Day ceremony, in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 10.

Along with the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights has issued circulars fourteen times. The last is Circular Letter Number SEK-27.OT.02.02 dated November 9, 2021.

"I ask all ASN to understand and guide the directions of the President and Minister as well as various regulations related to implementing PPKM properly according to their duties and functions based on KDP leveling in their respective regions," said Andap.

Andap also asked for stricter health protocols (prokes) specifically for the Regional Office (Kanwil) closest to the entrance of foreigners.

"Prepare SOPs properly and continue to apply strict health protocols as an anticipatory measure for the new variant of COVID-19 AY4.2 or Delta Plus, especially for Regional Offices that have immigration checkpoints opened as international gates bordering other countries," he continued.

Based on the circular letter, the following are immigration offices that are opened for international arrivals or have country crossings, namely:

Soekarno Hatta Airport in Tangerang, Banten Province, Hang Nadim Airport in Batam, Riau Islands Province, Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport in Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands Province, Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar, Bali Province, Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado, North Sulawesi Province, Batam and Tanjung Pinang Ports. in Riau Islands Province, Nunukan Port in North Kalimantan Province, Aruk and Entikong State Border Posts in West Kalimantan Province, and, Motaain State Cross Border Post in East Nusa Tenggara Province.

In particular, Andap paid attention to the Regional Offices of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and Bali, the locations where the World Superbike and G-20 meetings will be held.

"For the Regional Office, there are international events such as the World Super Bike in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara, and the G20 meeting in Bali to further tighten supervision, prepare anticipatory steps and implement strict health protocols," explained Andap.

Andap also instructed that strict and intense supervision be carried out so that the health protocol employees strictly when carrying out activities in various places.

"The COVID-19 Task Force in each Satker is to intensively monitor the condition of employees and is prohibited from holding activities that have the potential to cause crowds during the Christmas and New Year 2022 holidays," he hoped.

Reporting from the website covid19.kemenkumham.go.id, until now, Wednesday 10 November, there are still 7 civil servants in the Ministry of Law and Human Rights who have been positively exposed to COVID-19.

Previously, on Monday, November 8, there were 10 positive cases. While the total who died until now reached 63 people. The cure rate reached 7642 people.
