It Turns Out That Only 18.46 Percent Of Regional-owned Enterprises Reported Their Office Wealth To The KPK
JAKARTA - Corruption (KPK) has appealed to officials of Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) to submit a State Administration Wealth Report (LHKPN). This appeal arose because only 18 percent of BUMDs reported their official assets.
"Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs in 2020, there are a total of 1.094 BUMDs. From this data, the KPK recorded 202 or around 18.46 percent of BUMDs that have registered with LHKPN," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Prevention Ipi Maryati to reporters, Monday, November 8.
She explained that of the 202 registered BUMDs, 87 of them have formed an Independent LHKPN (UPL) Management Unit. While the rest are still joining the UPL of the provincial, district, and city governments.
Ipi reminded that every official in the ranks of BUMD is required to report their assets. Moreover, in accordance with the explanation of Law Number 28 of 1999 concerning the Implementation of a Clean and the Free State of Corruption, Collusion and Nepotism, it is stated that the board of directors, commissioners, and other structural officials in State-owned Enterprises (BUMN) or BUMD are officials who have strategic functions in relation to state administration and are vulnerable to against the practice of corruption, collusion, and nepotism.

Furthermore, the KPK has also held coordination meetings involving 219 BUMDs in five provinces, namely Central Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, West Java, East Java, and Bali. In the meeting, Ipi said, his party continues to encourage compliance with LHKPN BUMD officials.
Not only that, but the anti-corruption commission also encourages the preparation of internal regulations regarding LHKPN that are harmonized with KPK Regulation No. 2 of 2020 concerning Procedures for Registration, Announcement, and Examination of LHKPN which includes the number of mandatory reports, reporting procedures, and the application of sanctions.
"KPK encourages BUMD to form an independent UPL or coordinate it with the relevant regional government," said Ipi.
She said LHKPN is an important instrument to prevent corruption by prioritizing transparency and accountability. Moreover, in this report, the assets of the officials will be announced from the source of revenue to the debt they have.
"LHKPN is one of the important instruments in preventing corruption that puts forward the principles of transparency and accountability of state officials by disclosing information about the assets of state officials, spouses, and children who are still dependent, which includes sources of income, expenditure, and debt," concluded Ipi.
