JAKARTA - The Deputy Chief of Police, Komjen Dedi Prasetyo, said that the large-scale patrols carried out would comb through the Rukun Tetangga (RT) and Rukun Warga (RW) areas. Semata aims to create a sense of security for the entire community after the riots in several areas.

"We understand the public's concerns and concerns, especially regarding the looting issues that are widely reported. For this reason, we emphasize our commitment: there is no room for anarchy and vandalism. We carry out patrols down to the RT/RW level to ensure that your environment is safe," said Dedi in his statement quoted Monday, September 1.

Ditegaskan, Polri bersama TNI akan menindak tegas semua pihak yang memanfaatkan aksi demonstasi dengan tujuan merusak fasilitas umum. Sebab, hal itu telah masuk ke ranah pidana.

"Every perpetrator who takes advantage of the situation to commit a crime, such as looting in a private home or public facilities, will be dealt with firmly," he said.

Not only that, Dedi also mentioned the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to secure all police headquarters. The reason is that the anarchation action made the Police a target.

"In a firm order, the National Police Chief also ordered that the security of all Police Headquarterss and Police Dormitory must be maintained and strengthened. Do not let the symbol of the state and the symbol of legal sovereignty be touched, especially in which there are families, prisoners and dangerous goods that cannot fall in the hands of criminals," he said.

"The National Police institution is a representation of the state in ensuring security, and we will maintain the state's authority to the last drop of blood," continued Dedi.
