BANYUMAS - Banyumas Regent, Achmad Husein, said as many as 844 residents were still displaced due to the flood that hit several areas in Banyumas Regency, Central Java, since March 15, 2022.

"This number is based on data from the BPBD Pusdalops (Operational Control Center of the Regional Disaster Management Agency) of Banyumas Regency as of March 22, 2022, at 07.00 WIB. Currently, water inundation in some areas has begun to recede", he said in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Tuesday 22 March.

Furthermore, the Regent said the hundreds of refugees were spread over 12 refugee posts in seven villages from two sub-districts.

In this case, in Plangapan Village, Tambak District, 228 people were still taking refuge in refugee posts located at SDN 1 Plangapan School, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Plangapan, and Plangapan Mosque.

In addition, in Gebangsari Village, Tambak District, 68 people took refuge in the village hall evacuation post and Al Falah PAUD. In Gumelar Kidul Village (Tambak) 27 people fled to the Teratai PAUD, while in Karangpetir Village (Tambak) 90 people fled to the local village hall and prayer room.

Meanwhile, in Sumpiuh Subdistrict, 25 residents of Selandaka Village were still evacuating at the Selandaka Mosque, 60 of Kuntili Village's residents took refuge in the Kuntili Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, and 346 Nusadadi Village residents who took refuge in the Sumpiuh Subdistrict Office and the KPRI Office.

"Overall, the flood-affected areas in Banyumas Regency are 17 villages spread across Tambak, Sumpiuh, Kemranjen, and Wangon sub-districts with the number of affected residents reaching 17,035 people from 5,437 families", said the Regent as quoted by Antara.

"But so far, there are only 12 refugee posts in seven villages where there are still refugees, while in eight other villages there are no more people who have fled, and in Wangon there are still residents who have fled to relatives or neighbors' houses", continued the Regent.

He said that in Pengadegan Village, Wangon District, there were 487 people from 144 flood-affected families who fled to relatives or neighbors who were not affected.

"Similarly, in Rawaheng Village, Wangon District, there are 487 people from 114 families who fled to relatives or neighbors' houses that were not affected by the flood", he said.

According to him, food needs for flood victims in all areas are supplied from public kitchens located at the Tambak District Office, Sumpiuh District Office, Plangkap Village Hall, Al Falah PAUD Gebangsari Village, Karangpetir Village Hall, as well as Banser and Fatayat Plangkap Village.

Meanwhile, in Pengadegan and Rawaheng villages, public kitchens were opened in the homes of local villagers.

Regarding the logistical stock of basic needs in the post warehouse, the Regent said that based on data as of Tuesday, March 22, at 07.00 WIB, 1.1 tons of rice were available, 150 liters of cooking oil, 150 boxes of instant noodles, 40 boxes of mineral water, and medicines. light.

According to him, donors who want to assist flood victims are welcome to contact the Banyumas Regional Disaster Management Agency.

"To be honest, the current needs for assistance include logistics for basic needs, baby equipment, diapers for the elderly, cleaning equipment, and boats for evacuation and distribution", he said.

In addition, he said, his party also needed the assistance of personnel with specifications for cluster posts, shelter clusters, or handling refugees and psychosocial assistance clusters.
