JAKARTA – Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri announced an update from Reels this morning, to be precise on Thursday, November 23. This newly announced feature is similar to the feature on TikTok.

All Instagram users can now save Reels they have watched to the gallery. Of course, the presence of this feature is very useful for users who want to remember videos in the form of tips and tricks or other useful videos.

Mosseri said that each downloaded Reels will feature a watermark or mark to mark one's work. This watermark will be visible near the top of the screen, although slightly off-center, with the Instagram icon and username below it.

This watermark is not as conspicuous if the saved video is full of bright colors. The reason is, Instagram makes their watermark white and seems to only stay in one place.

In fact, the feature for saving Reels videos to the cellphone gallery has been around since the beginning of the year. However, this feature is still limited to users in the United States only. Now, Instagram has released it globally.

To use these videos, users just need to go to Reels and view the video they want to save. After that, select the Share icon on Reels and select the Download menu which is next to the Save Link menu.

“Public accounts can disable people's ability to download their Reels. If the Reels you like are not eligible for download, you can still tap the three dots and Save to watch later in the app,” Mosseri wrote in the channel broadcast.

Even though Mosseri said that Reels videos can now be downloaded, VOI has tried it and this feature has not been seen. This means that Instagram is still making updates in stages until users in all countries can take advantage of this feature.
