Miss Universe Organization Denies Involvement In Miss Universe Coin Project

JAKARTA - The Miss Universe organization denied any connection with the Miss Universe Coin project announced at the Philippines Blockchain Week (PBW) event which was held earlier this month. PBW said it was in contact with all parties involved and would soon provide updates.

Earlier this month, a project called Miss Universe Coin was announced in PBW. Donald Lim, the founder of the organization that manages PBW, said during the event that PBW would "launch Miss Universe Coin." However, a few weeks after the announcement, the official organization behind Miss Universe denied any involvement in the coin project and called it a scam.

On September 22, Miss Universe's official website on Facebook announced that the Miss Universe and JKN Global Group organizations, the company behind the contest, were not linked to the coin project disclosed at the PBW event. According to the organization, they will pursue "all legal options related to this breach."

"Currently, there is no Miss Universe cryptocurrence or blockchain offerings, and these products are not at all involved in the Miss Universe selection process or the Miss Universe Philippines pageant," they wrote.

In a statement sent to Cointelegraph, a representative from the Miss Universe Organization called Miss Universe Coin a "fraud" and they expect the project to be announced further in events around the world.

"We suspect that people may be planning to mention this in a upcoming blockchain conference in Dubai and Singapore. If you see it there, please don't cover it; it's a scam," they said.

In a statement on X (former Twitter), PBW said that they are currently in contact with all parties involved and will announce updates as soon as possible. Cointelegraph has tried to contact the Philippine Blockchain Week but did not receive immediate response.
